What documents are required for account opening?

Use Singpass to reduce the number of documents to submit!

List of Acceptable Documents

1. Identification Document
   • Provide front and back of NRIC
   • Applicant below the age of 15 or have not been issued with NRIC:
     • Provide Birth Certificate (For Singaporean)
     • Provide valid Re-entry Permit and Passport (For Singapore Permanent Resident)
2. Proof of Residential Address
   Provide the latest copy (within last 3 months) of any of the items below:
   • Back of NRIC
   • Local utility bill or telecommunication bill
   • Local bank statement/credit card statement
3. Proof of Tax Residency
   Provide a copy of government-issued document for each country/jurisdiction of tax residency declared
   • Passport/ Identity Card/ Residence Permit/ Work Pass
   • Document from tax authority showing recent filing of income tax
   Note: For Singapore tax residency, provide Singapore-issued identification document (NRIC).

1. Identification Document
   • Provide valid Passport (biodata)
   • For Malaysian - Provide front and back of Malaysian IC
2. Proof of Employment
   • Employment pass / 1In-Principle Approval (IPA) issued by Ministry of Manpower
3. Proof of Residential Address
   Provide the latest copy (within last 3 months) of any of the items below:
   • Letter of offer or employment
   • Certificate of Stamp Duty
   • Local utility bill or telecommunication bill
   • Local bank statement/credit card statement
   • 1In-Principle Approval (IPA) issued by Ministry of Manpower
   • Work permit of foreign domestic worker (domestic helper) issued by Ministry of Manpower before 24 August 2020
   Note:
   1. Name and Address in the document should match that on your application form.
   2. Tenancy Agreement is not acceptable proof of residential address.
   
   
4. Proof of Tax Residency
   Provide a copy of government-issued document for each country/jurisdiction of tax residency declared
   • Passport/ Identity Card/ Residence Permit/ Work Pass
   • Document from tax authority showing recent filing of income tax
   Note: For Singapore tax residency, provide Singapore-issued identification document (EP/SP/Work Permit).

1 For online account application, IPA can only be accepted for either item 2 or 3, not both.

   • Student Pass or In-Principle Approval from ICA
   • Acceptance letter from school (restricted to official letters from educational institutions or schools under the purview of Council for Private Education or Ministry of Education)
3. Proof of Residential Address
   Provide the latest copy (within last 3 months) of any of the items below:
   • Local utility bill or telecommunication bill
   • Local bank statement/credit card statement
   • Certificate of Stamp Duty
   • Acceptance letter from school (restricted to official letters from educational institutions or schools under the purview of Council for Private Education or Ministry of Education)

   1. Name and Address in the document should match that on your application form.
   2. Tenancy Agreement is not acceptable proof of residential address.

*If uploaded document is under the name of sponsor, additional supporting document (e.g marriage certificate/birth certificate) may be required.

Online Account Opening Follow-up Applications

• For customers who received an SMS on your online account opening application, please email the required documents as indicated in SMS to our functional mailbox below within 3 days.

• Please indicate last 4 characters of your NRIC/Passport in email subject e.g. "567A".
• Our team will complete your application once we received the correct documents.

More information

• *Residential Address: A non-commercial address where the customer resides. An overseas residential address can used to apply for an account if a Singapore address is unavailable at that point. Letter issued by government of other public bodies regulated for AML practices or a letter from regulated insurance companies in a FATF member country may be uploaded as proof. However, customers are required to update to Singapore address via digibank once available.
• For Online Personal or Joint-Alternate Account Application, please ensure that the proof of residential address uploaded for each applicant indicates their address and issue date clearly.
• For Joint-Alternate account application, both applicant’s proof of addresses are required.
• For proof of mobile number ownership (if applicable), please upload either a local telecommunication bill/confirmation letter or mobile service agreement (signed acceptance page).
