What colors do the 2023 Ford Maverick come in?

Official details about Ford Maverick 2023 are not yet available, but a leak on the company's consumer website revealed the Colors that will be available during the next model year. Compared to 2022, the first year of Maverick, two colors join the palette and two disappear.

posted on the Maverick Truck Club enthusiast forum, the screenshot allegedly shows a page that was erroneously posted on the website of Ford and quickly removed from the air. It lists 11 colors for the Maverick 2023, including two that are new for the upcoming model year: Atlas Blue Metallic Metallic and Avalanche Grey. None of them are completely new; Atlas Blue Metallic is now available on F-150, for example.

Atlas Blue apparently replaces Velocity Blue, which doesn't appear in the doc detailing available colors for 2023. The other drop-out is Rapid Red Metallic, which is not surprising because it was exclusive. of the First Edition model that Ford offered for a limited time.

The rest of the palette remains unchanged. In addition to the two colors mentioned, buyers in the market for a 2023 Maverick will be able to choose from Hot Pepper Red Metallic, Shadow Black, Iconic Silver Metallic, Area 51, Alto Blue Metallic, Carbonized Gray Metallic, Cactus Grey, Cyber-Orange Metallic, and Oxford White. Ford notes that Hot Pepper Red, Alto Blue and Cyber-Orange are extra-cost options, though the document does not reveal pricing information. For context, these colors are priced at US$ 390, US$ 390, and US$ 495, respectively, in 2022.

Official details about the 2023 Ford Maverick are expected to emerge in the not-too-distant future. There may be more changes in store beyond the palette: in July 2022, our spies spotted a new enigmatic, off-road variant of the Maverick (maybe a new member of the quake squad ?) testing near Ford's headquarters.

Unlike other websites and magazines, our ratings are not based solely on a singular road test, but rather a more encompassing batch of criteria: quality, safety, comfort, performance, fuel economy, reliability history and value. When comparing vehicles using our Rating System, it's important to note that the rating earned by each vehicle correlates only to the models within its class. For example, a compact car cannot be compared to a SUV—They are different vehicles altogether.

You can interpret our ratings in the following way:

5-Star: Outstanding vehicle. Only the most exceptional vehicles achieve this rating.

4-Star: Very Good vehicle. Very good and close to being the best vehicle in its class.

3-Star: Good vehicle. Decent, but not quite the best. Often affordable, but lacking key features found in vehicles of the same class.

2-Star: Below average vehicle. Not recommended, and lacking attributes a car buyer would come to expect for the price.

1-Star: Poor vehicle. Simply does not deserve to be on the road.

Ford has killed some great colors for 2023.

Automotive Touchup has dropped another leak. This isn't some company with insiders across the auto industry leaking info, either. The brand is a paint company, which makes sense when you take into account that it has leaked the color choices for the 2023 Ford Maverick.

Funnily enough, Automotive Touchup has come up before, when it leaked the Bronco's 11 color options. We imagine that at this rate, the brand will be getting a letter from Ford. Either way, we have a few color losses to be bummed about.

From the looks of things, Cyber Orange, shared with the Bronco, will be taking a hike. So will Carbonized Gray, Hot Pepper Red, Velocity Blue, and Shadow Black. Frankly, that's a good chunk of the good colors on the Maverick. And there's only one reason Ford would ax them: poor sales. The Hot Pepper Red we had on our loaner was particularly attractive. We'll also miss Cyber Orange, one of Ford's better colors.

Alto Blue, Area 51, Oxford White, and Iconic Silver will all be carried over from the 2022 model year. Notably, that leaves the new lineup without any reds. Which is unfortunate. However, we do expect Ford to keep something red in the lineup. We hope. Here's the full run of 2023 Maverick colors: Oxford White, Absolute Black, Fighter Jet Grey (same as Cactus Grey), Atlas Blue Pearl Metallic, Area 51, Avalanche, Iconic Silver Metallic, and Alto Blue Pearl.

That's a good spread, but no red is a downer when you consider the price jump. 2023 Mavs will cost you an extra $1,000, and having fewer colors to choose from (some of which are optional) doesn't help that sting any less.
