Hi,

I have a bunch a PCs at home which get ruined by adults/kids with so much malware...so I want to install Deep Freeze but I've only seen an Enterprise option.

Is Deep Freeze available for home use? If no, then are there any alternatives?

We use DFE but I do see this and it might work for what your wanting

I don’t think Deepfreeze is an appropriate tool for home computers as it rolls the computer and all the files back to their golden state after each use/day/etc.. so you lose folders, files not stored to an external drive. There are other ways to prevent malware from being installed. Simple admin options will prevent exe and msi and require an admin password for changes. You can also prevent browser extensions and the like. If you were really ambitious you could even set up a home domain for superior granular control of user permissions; but it’s really overkill for home use. Fun though for ya nerds and good practice.

Take away admin and power user permissions. Install Sophos Home or MalwareBytes Free Ed. Set DNS to 9.9.9.9. That’s a good start.

You might be surprised but we have a large number of home users that do make use of Deep Freeze Standard to protect their machines.
What a lot of people will do is configure the computer with two partitions / drives, one configured as frozen for the OS and Applications, and a second thawed for the user data. That way you can protect the Operating System and any critical apps from changes, but still get the flexibility to save data in your user profile. We in fact provide a utility that can make the process of moving the user data from one location to another pretty simple.

Another option if it is for home use. freeze with Deep Freeze the unit c and cut the files from C: \ Users \ User to the unit D: then if you install programs or another plugin for windows it will return to previous state. I hope to have explained.

Deep Freeze is more designed for public access PC's; using it for personal use is slight overkill. I use a similar tool at home, Rollback Rx Home is freeware which works similarly but provides more options and can also provide some data protection and data recovery (whereas Deep Freeze is the 'nuke it all from orbit' option). There's a Pro Edition which has more automation and other tasks but for what you're describing the freeware may work perfectly. Either way, this will be better for home use imo.
