Maybelline all fired up lipstick review

Maybelline really put a lot of eggs in this collection, as they came up with a massive range of shades, really comfortable formulation, and an affordable price range. As the name implies, this is one of the creamiest and butteriest lipstick ranges out there. The texture is powdery, but the lipstick is a bit thick, plus it’s soft and moves, which makes it a very forgiving matte lipstick for people with dry lips. As this doesn’t dry nor set, there’s also no instance of it ever flaking off. This is also not does give the exact effect of a liquid lipstick, giving wearers a look that works on all occasions across trends and time.

The color pigmentation is good, and most shades have good color payoff. It doesn’t take a lot of effort the lipstick’s color to fully cancel out the natural color of the wearer’s lips. It also helps that this range always has so many shades, and they seem to always add more, so there is surely a shade for every kind of buyer.

This is one of the most comfortable matte lipsticks out there, as it doesn’t skid, doesn’t feel sticky, and doesn’t feel hot. It’s everything people with dry lips have asked for in a matte lipstick. However, since the formulation moves, it’s also not Maybelline’s longest-lasting lipstick. One will realistically need to reapply this throughout the day.

At Php299, there’s good value for money as this is really a step above other lipsticks in terms of comfort and texture. And of course, there’s also the fact that there are so many shades to choose from.

From left to right as shown above: Daringly Nude, Clay Crush, Touch of Spice, Lust for Blush, All Fired Up.

Last year Maybelline released their Creamy Mattes to the drugstore, which included 10 shades. This year, recently, Maybelline has released 10 more shades in their collection. For reference, Clay Crush and All Fired Up are brand new. These lipsticks are said to give a burst of color and a surge of creamy texture (via Maybelline.com) and dry to a matte finish.

These lipsticks retail for around $5 at Walmart.

Let’s get started on the swatches!

  • Daringly Nude

Daringly Nude is a peachy-mauve nude shade. It would be beautiful on all skin-tones. On me, it is a darker nude that is more peach on my skin-tone, but I love it—I even wore this lipstick for prom! It lasted all night and was absolutely beautiful and matte.

  • Clay Crush

Clay Crush is an orange-brown color that also has some pink hues. My skin-tone brings out the orange. I also really like this shade, and I think it’ll also be a nice fall color.

  • Touch of Spice

Touch of Spice is a burgundy Marsala color with some berry undertones. This will definitely be my go-to fall lipstick this year, for sure!

  • Lust for Blush

Lust for Blush is a gorgeous purple-pink shade. I would totally wear this for spring and summer alike.

  • All Fired Up

All Fired Up a bright hot-pink shade that has some red undertones. I love this shade so much! This is one of my absolute favorite colors to wear during the summer months.

These Maybelline Matte Lipsticks are all beautiful. The texture of them is a bit different—it’s not your usual matte that leaves you feeling dry and dehydrated; these lipsticks leave your lips feeling plump and healthy. Once they set, I do think they last a long time if you don’t drink, eat, or touch your mouth. I do like to touch-up after I eat. I don’t find these feathering out of my lip-line at all. These are great!
