As a brand, it feels like Lush lives by the John Mayer mantra: "your body is a wonderland," except it's not just your body, it's your bathroom at large. Because thanks to the brand, getting ready's gotten more fun: Lush has given us bath bombs, basically explosions of joy and glitter; it's given us flubber-y shower jellies to totally one-up the bathing process; and now, it's taking that technology to face masks. The good news is, they're incredible. The bad: you'll need some serious willpower to stop fiddling with them and actually put them on. They're like silly putty for adults.

If you haven't been keeping up with everything landing at Sephora lately, everything's coming up jelly. From Butter London's bouncy Glazen Eye Glosses to , we're collectively obsessed with jiggly, jelly products that are as addictive to play with as they are to use. And why not? Anything that makes beauty more fun and playful is rarely a bad thing.

Coming back to Lush's masks, it just comes down to picking your best fit, there are five in total from the new line. First up is Bunny Moon, a mild, soothing medley for sensitive skin. 1000 Millihelens contains anti-inflammatory green tea and witch hazel, which is great for anyone with acne-prone skin. FOMO features a redness-reducing blend of calamine and rose, while Birth of Venus has a smoothing combo of kaolin clay and sea water that's great for moisturizing oily skin. And lastly, there's Just to Clarify, a brightening mask with scrubby bamboo bits and exfoliating papaya juice. Obviously, the names are amazing.

As a mask enthusiast eager to experience every single one, as soon as I got my hands on the jellies I whisked them home and did an "all of you get on my face" situation. Using the jellies is at first a little bizarre: you shake the blob out of its recycled plastic carton, pinch off a bit and work it between your dry hands, then smear the resulting paste across your face. Pro tip: keep them in the fridge to help them slide out easily. I really had to dig the jelly out, and it hurt my heart to maul it like that (still super fun, though).

For the full experience, I slathered Bunny Moon on the left side of my face eyes-down, FOMO (fittingly) on my right, and Just to Clarify across my forehead, because who doesn't love a bright forehead? Ten minutes later, I washed all three off, and, to be honest, I didn't notice an immediately significant difference. But these guys are a waiting game, because this morning I woke up to crazy-soft, velvety smooth skin, especially on the FOMO side.

I picked this mask up a few weeks back, as I’m dying to try all the jelly masks! This is the third one I’ve tried! All the jelly face masks are £6.95 each, and you can probably get around 8 masks from each one!

1000 millihelens main ingredients are apple juice, lemon, green tea and witch hazel! All the dream ingredients for clear skin! The reason why I picked it up! The idea is to grab a chunk from the pot and work it into a paste in your hands before smoothing onto your face. I found this face mask the easiest one of them all to mix into a paste! It felt so smooth and applied to my skin with barely any lumpy bits!

Yes, I’m aware this does not look very appealing! But I’ll try anything if it promises clear skin!

This mask reminds me of a ‘forest’ smell. It smells very earthy, and not offensive at all! It smelt like it was doing wonders for my skin, like I was in the fresh outdoors!

This mask instantly smoothed my skin out, it soothed a spot I had on my chin and made my skin feel like a babies bum! It didn’t feel dry or cracked, just hydrated and very clean! I’ve used this twice a week for the last 2/3 weeks and it has kept the breakouts at bay – even reducing one red down to nothing over a few days!

This mask is ideal for all skin types, but especially spot prone, sensitive skin! If you’re looking for a mask to naturally keep spots and bad bacteria at bay, definitely give this a try! It’s soothing enough for daily use, and the witch hazel in it does wonders for any skin type!

Lush jelly mask 1000 millihelens review năm 2024

The new Lush Jelly Face Masks are a little weird, but weird in a fun way. They just feel soo squishy (like the other Lush Jelly products) – totally different from the original Lush Mask range. This jelly texture made me a little curious I will admit. With the other Lush masks, you can really feel the products working into your skin & I wasn’t sure I would get the same effect with these Jelly Masks if I am honest with you (spoiler alert, I was wrong. so wrong)

To use these masks, you have to tear a little part of the jelly from the tub (a little goes a long way just FYI) then squish & squash the jelly into your hands. It then starts to develop a much creamier texture & will have you thinking ‘ok now I see how this works’. You don’t need to texture to be 100% smooth, just smooth enough that you can apply it to your face (see selfie below)

me rocking the 1000 millihelens Lush Jelly Face Mask

Which one should I try you ask?

Each of the new Lush Jelly Face Masks are totally different, there is something for every skin type & every mood. Here is a little breakdown for you;

1000 Millihelens (my personal fav)

This is a green tea based mask packed with anti-oxidants which leaves your skin feeling brand new. There is also some hazel & apple juice in there too for some toning & rejuvenating. It perfect for a little skin detox or pamper night in.

The Birth Of Venus

This one is a very relaxing Face Mask to use. It is good for calming your skin down & it brought a sense of calm to my soul too (this is rare lol). It’s a smooth seaweedy Face Mask with a touch of rose infusion, lavender & chamomile. Best before bed as part of your winding down routine.

Just To Clarify

I think the name gives it away, this Lush Jelly Face Mask is the best one for cleansing & clarifying your skin. It is very refreshing packed with grapefruit, orange & papaya. It also contains some bamboo which acts as a great exfoliation when apply & removing the mask. Best for cleansing.

FOMO

FOMO is a very gentle Face Mask, super soothing. It contains calamine (which is great for evening out skin tone & soothing skin sores/blemishes) & also carrageenan which is known for its hydration properties. Best for calming your skin & giving your face a little TLC.

Do they work?

Yes. 100%.

Just as effective & as awesome as the non-jelly Face Masks at Lush.

Are they a little weird?

Yes. But all the best things are.

So if you are a little curious: decide what kinda mood you’re in & what your skin needs & be sure to try them out. My fav is 1000 Millihelens, the smell is divine & you can’t go wrong with anti-oxidants right? Buy them here on the Lush webstore – Enjoy! Jess xox
