Xiaomi is launching the Redmi K20 Pro Exclusive Edition in China tomorrow but it has revealed some of the key highlights such as 12GB RAM, Snapdragon 855 Plus chip and more.

A few months ago, Xiaomi launched its flagship phone under the Redmi brand, making it the cheapest phone with the Snapdragon 855 chipset in India. The phone received praises from the critics as well as Xiaomi fans for all it offered, despite the controversial pricing. However, by the time Xiaomi released it in India, Qualcomm had released the Snapdragon 855 Plus chipset and in today's very competitive market, it had to upgrade the phone with the latest chipset. Well, Xiaomi is doing that with the Redmi K20 Pro Exclusive Edition.

Looking past the long name, the K20 Pro Exclusive Edition has been speculated to bring some major mid-life upgrades to the Xiaomi flagship with the latest tech trends. And before the phone starts leaking all over the web, Xiaomi has itself revealed some of the specifications that will differentiate the K20 Pro Exclusive Edition from the regular K20 Pro. And these upgrades are big in every sense.

Previously, it was confirmed that the K20 Pro Exclusive Edition will get the newer Snapdragon 855 Plus chipset that we have previously seen in the gaming phones such as the Black Shark 2 Pro and Asus ROG Phone 2. The new chip is expected to offer 15 per cent better performance in graphics and four per cent improvement in CPU performance.

However, the latest revelations from Xiaomi have confirmed that the K20 Pro Exclusive Edition will get up to 12GB RAM in its top-end variant. The massive 12GB RAM puts its right up with the likes of OnePlus 7 Pro and Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus. Therefore, for gamers, this could be a very powerful phone but one that would be quite affordable in comparison to its rivals.

Xiaomi also says the K20 Pro Exclusive Edition will get a quad-camera setup at the back. The listing reveals that the quad-camera setup will include a 64-megapixel camera and a 48-megapixel camera. This could make the Redmi K20 Pro Exclusive Edition the most powerful smartphone camera system, at least theoretically. The 64-megapixel camera could be the same unit from the Redmi Note 8 Pro but we can expect it to perform better on the flagship version. It would be interesting to see how Xiaomi uses the 48-megapixel and 64-megapixel camera together.

Along with the rear camera specifications, the Redmi K20 Pro Exclusive Edition NFC, Hi-Fi audio, Type-C port, and a four-curved glass body with Gorilla Glass 5 on both sides.

Redmi unveiled its first flagship smartphone — Redmi K20 Pro (Review) back in May this year. The smartphone is powered by the Snapdragon 855 processor and packs in a 4,000 mAh battery. As per by the company, Redmi will be unveiling an exclusive edition of the Redmi K20 Pro tomorrow. It will offer up to 512 GB of internal storage. also hinted that the upcoming exclusive edition might come with Snapdragon 855+ processor.

Up till now, Redmi K20 Pro offered up t 8 GB RAM and 256 GB internal storage.

Redmi K20 Pro comes with a 6.35-inch display with an FHD+ resolution and 19.5:9 aspect ratio.

Redmi's 'Flagship Killer 2.0' has certainly got the flagship-level internals as well. Powering the device is a Snapdragon 855 SoC which is paired with up to 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage. The device runs on Android 9.0 Pie along with Xiaomi's MIUI 10 skin overlaying it.

In terms of optics, the Redmi K20 Pro has triple rear cameras which consist of a 48 MP primary sensor + 13 MP ultra-wide sensor + 8 MP telephoto lens with 2X optical zoom. The pop-out camera on the phone has a 20 MP sensor. In terms of video shooting capabilities, the device has a 960 fps slo-mo feature along with 4K @ 30 fps recording.

The phone has a 4,000 mAh battery which supports 27 W fast-charging capabilities. Redmi claims this can charge the phone 58 percent in 30 minutes and completely fill the power cell in 74 minutes. Apart from that Redmi has also added a Game Turbo 2.0 feature that allocates more resources for gaming.
