Created especially for dry, damaged or colour-treated hair, the Bumble and Bumble Hairdresser’s Invisible Oil combination claims to be multi-tasking and moisturising. It's designed to instantly transform coarse or brittle hair into soft, silky and smooth locks. It also aims to de-frizz, hydrate and protect from heat without weighing them down.

GHI EXPERT VERDICT

While the shampoo left hair feeling clean, light and volumised, the conditioner received even higher praises from our testers. It distributed evenly through the hair, making it easier to comb through and nourished. Most testers said it left a lovely shine, too. The majority agreed both products rinsed out easily, they liked the fragrance and thought a little product went a long way. It also made hair easier to style.

Say hello to hydration and goodbye to dry and damaged hair. Bumble and bumble, the luxe haircare brand with cream and coral packaging, just launched its new Hairdresser’s Invisible Oil Ultra Rich collection.

As an extension of the brand’s top-selling Hairdresser’s Invisible Oil collection — which I’ve used for years — the new line is specially designed for “thirsty strands in need of intense moisture,” per Bumble and bumble.

“With this line, we brought in a skincare-grade of hyaluronic acid, so we’re taking care of all aspects of beauty,” said Britney Williams, Bumble and Bumble’s live educator and stylist, told The Post. “So, if it’s good for your face, we’re going to keep your hair healthy, strong and protected with rich ingredients.”

Along with hyaluronic acid, the skincare powerhouse ingredient that provides moisture to the skin, the shampoo, conditioner and treatment are infused with a six-oil blend, along with Kalahari melon seed oil, which “helps keep the hair soft and luscious,” Williams adds.

About Bumble and bumble’s new collection

Bumble and bumble’s new Hairdresser’s Invisible Oil Ultra Rich collection includes a product trio that is tested, formulated and designed specifically for different hair types.

“Any products that get developed touch the stylists’ hands first,” Williams said. “It’s super unique because most companies go through production without a team of stylists. We come together and find the perfect product for specific hair types.”

Speaking of varying hair types, Williams explains the versatility and hydrating power the shampoo, conditioner and treatment have on her hair type.

“I’m mixed-race, so it’s hard for me to find products that are hydrating for my hair without weighing it down,” she said. “This new ultra-rich product is perfect because it offers up to 72 hours of high humidity protection and frizz reduction. It’s also color-safe.”

Our review on Bumble and bumble’s new collection

I’ve used Bumble and bumble’s original Hairdresser’s Invisible Oil Heat/UV Protective Primer for years and was thrilled to try out the new collection. First off, when using the shampoo and conditioner, my hair has never felt smoother, hydrated and knot-free.

All three of the products smell divine out of the packaging, like fresh flowers and beachy coconuts straight out of the bottles. My hair was neither frizzy nor flat and greasy, so it was the perfect middle ground of diminishing my dry locks into a salon-like blowout.

Plus, the Hairdresser’s Invisible Oil Ultra Rich Hyaluronic Treatment Lotion was a lifesaver on my second-day hair. As Williams suggests, I applied two to three pumps of lotion to my hair from the ears to the ends.

It automatically revived my hair and I didn’t have to apply heat the second day.

  • What it is: A creamy, ultra-rich shampoo that gently cleanses and helps nourish your hair from the scalp to the ends, thanks to its skincare-grade hyaluronic acid and Kalahari melon seed oil.
  • What it’s formulated for: All hair types and textures 4C-1A, especially dry to very dry.
  • How to use it: Work the shampoo between your hands and massage it throughout damp hair. Rinse, and then follow with the Hairdresser’s Invisible Oil Ultra Rich Conditioner.

“The most important thing is a good shampoo and conditioner because good hair starts in the shower,” Williams said. “Good products prolong the integrity of your hair, so especially if you’re someone who chemically treats your hair, it’s important to add quality products into your routine that will help make your hair soft, healthy and shiny long-term.”

Our expert:

  • Britney Williams: Bumble and bumble’s live educator and stylist who has been with the company for 15 years. She started out in the brand’s apprentice program before progressing to her role as a stylist and live educator.

“Most of my role is education now, but I also do fashion weeks in New York, London and Paris as the brand’s celebrity stylist, working with actors, actresses, reality TV stars and designers,” she said. “I’ve done some campaign imagery as well.”

Is Bumble and Bumble actually good for your hair?

Bumble & Bumble We concede they are great for photoshoots and runway looks, but they aren't the best at protecting the health of your hair. All of their products are full of dimethicone (cosmetic grade silicone) which they use to smooth the hair and make it shiny.

Which is better Olaplex or Bumble and Bumble?

Comparing the shampoo and conditioner with the Olaplex wash and rinse, my hair prefers the ones from Bumble & Bumble. However, while the B&B bonding treatment is cheaper per ounce than the Olaplex no3, the shampoo and conditioner are actually more expensive.
