The design of these on-ears is also convincing and should strike a chord with the legions of Beats fans already looking to ensure their audio accessories are on trend. The workmanship and aesthetic design are right on point, as is the frequency response range, which hits a beautiful balance. However, the EP could sound a lot louder and more powerful, especially when on the go. At the same time, the manufacturer has failed to hit some basic levels of expectation when it comes to noise leakage from these wired on-ears. The new Beats EP is a stylish choice of over-ear wired headphone that offers a balanced sound character and hands-free function functionality. The Beats EP is available in a choice of black, blue, white and red. The lightweight build sits securely on the head, with size adjustments, a padded headband and rotating earpieces all adding to wearing comfort. Only the artificial leather coverings cause an issue, causing the skin to sweat underneath when worn for long periods of time. The Beats EP can be attached to all common smartphones and mobile devices via mini-jack connection, with the extra-wide cable specially designed to prevent knots and tangles. A hands-free function is also integrated into the inner tech of these headphones, with a one-button remote control allowing for access to functions like call acceptance and playback control. It’s also Siri compatible. The only major gripe here is that you can’t jump forwards or backwards through titles for track selection. SoundThe first impression of the EP is a rather reserved one, with the headphones failing to either deliver sound that’s either loud or powerful. After some getting used to this more muted sound, the device turns out to deliver a balanced audio character. There’s no pronounced overemphasis of bass at work here. Instead of say, a bass boost, these headphones deliver a more harmonious arrangement of low bass, midrange and high frequencies. There’s also no issue with hardness here, with the playback volume only serving to heighten listening pleasure when increased. Spatial sound and stereo staging aren’t superficial additions here, but instead reproduce the true characteristics of the recording. The insulation against external noise is sufficient here, but the shielding of device volume is not as adequate. As such, expect the EP to earn you some annoyed looks by fellow passengers on the train or bus if you enjoy listening at high volumes during your morning commute. The speech quality of the hands-free microphone, unfortunately, fails to convince and should have been a lot better considering the price range. It’s also disappointing to see that the manufacturer does not provide much in the way of technical information. This is typical of Beats, but the question remains as to why the manufacturer continues to conceal such data from its enthusiastic consumers. One of the thing I have found very annoying is this obsession with booming bass. I'm from the 1970's and I want my headphones to play the music as it is on the CD, or DVD or MP3. I don't want to be swamped by bass. I bought some Audio Technica headphones for listening at home and for mixing music and they were the only headphones I could find with a neutral bass, in other words headphones that let the bass sound as it should. These headphones are excellent but they are too big for a 63 year old man to be wearing whilst walking to work. So I looked again and finally came back to Beats headphones. I have tried my son's Beats headphones and the sound is fantastic but far too much bass. But when I looked up reviews for these EP headphones, the one thing that caught my eye was that, apart from being Beats lowest priced headphones, with no wireless connection, no detachable wiring, non-folding, they just happened to mention that they were much less "bassy" than all their other headphones. I have to agree. As well as being extremely comfortable to wear, even after 20-30 minutes walking home, the sound is outstanding and the bass is normal and rock music sounds like it is supposed to sound. If you are still listening to music from the 1990s and earlier then these are the headphones for you. Very solid build, very comfortable to wear, and very pleasing to the ear. Alla prova audio devo dire di essere rimasto molto soddisfatto, le ho testate con smartphone Samsung e PC, e devo dire che da smartphone con volume al massimo si gode di un ottimo suono, potente e dettagliato sia agli alti che ai bassi, mentre da PC non sono riuscito a tenere il volume al massimo per più di 10sec per quanto fosse alto. Leggere e comode, si riesce a tenerle su per ore. I padiglioni misurano 6,5 cm di diametro per cui molto compatti, mentre il cavo è lungo circa 120cm. Cercavo un paio di cuffie, non molto costose,ma di buon livello e con un aspetto Cool. A partire dalla scatola, si nota la cura per i particolari anche su queste cuffie entry-level. Scatola che ricorda tanto i prodotti Apple (di cui è proprietaria). Dentro, oltre le cuffie, troviamo una sacca morbida bella da vedere ma secondo me inutile. Le ho pagate meno di €50 e il rapporto qualità prezzo è stellare indiscutibile. Il suono è pulito, bassi e acuti ben definiti, il suono è cristallino e i bassi se pur molto profondi non sono troppo pompati, personalmente le uso collegate all amplificatore della chitarra 🎸 , collegate ad iPhone nel mio caso XS Max danno il massimo e si può anche richiamare Siri e la compatibilità con iOs e totale. Nel tempo ho posseduto diversi tipi di cuffie: in-ear, on-ear, di altre marche e posso dire che a questo prezzo (attualmente 39€) Le cuffie si collocano, secondo la mia opinione, tra le Solo HD e le Solo 2. Il design è molto elegante ed è fatto di alta qualità. Puoi dire solo quanto sono flessibili. Una volta afferrati, possono essere attorcigliati e larghi abbastanza per adattarsi alla tua testa. La fascia ha un materiale in gomma morbida che protegge la testa non esercitando pressione su di essa, soprattutto se la si mantiene per un lungo periodo di tempo. La qualità del suono è molto nitida. Il basso non suona il meglio a meno che tu non modifichi le tue impostazioni audio per ottenere il massimo, ma i medi e gli alti sono molto ricchi. Le cuffie sono on-ear, il che significa che non sono le migliori per sedersi per ore mentre si lavora in modo professionale. Una cosa che non mi piace di loro è il cavo. Prima di tutto è collegato alle cuffie e se si danneggia accidentalmente, è necessario un nuovo paio di cuffie. In secondo luogo il materiale che il cavo è fatto è appiccicoso, come se mi attaccasse ai gomiti e questo mi fa impazzire. Quindi sì, devi stare attento.
