CBS and the Recording Academy have announced that the 65th Annual Grammy Awards will air live from Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles on Sunday, February 5, 2023.

The ceremony will be broadcast on the CBS television network and be available to stream live and on-demand on Paramount+. The nominations for the event are scheduled to be revealed on Tuesday, November 15, 2022, with further information related to the awards becoming available in the coming months.

This year’s ceremony was held at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on April 3, 2022, and saw performances from the likes of Billie Eilish, Lil Nas X, Lady Gaga, Olivia Rodrigo, BTS, and Carrie Underwood. Jon Batiste received the most awards with five, including Album of the Year, while Silk Sonic won Record of the Year and Song of the Year for “Leave the Door Open”; Rodrigo won Best New Artist.

The 64th edition of the long-running awards show was originally scheduled for January 31, 2022, at the Crypto.com Arena; however, the Recording Academy postponed the ceremony due to health and safety concerns relating to the COVID-19 Omicron variant. The event was later rescheduled to April 3 and moved to the MGM Grand Garden Arena due to scheduling conflicts with the Crypto.com arena.

On Wednesday, July 13, it was revealed that the 2022 Grammys broadcast had been nominated for an Emmy for Outstanding Variety Special (Live). The show also picked up nominations for Production Design, Lighting Design/Lighting Direction, Sound Mixing, and Technical Direction, Camerawork, Video Control.

The Recording Academy is currently going through the first step in the voting process to narrow down the nominees for major awards like Album Of The Year and Best New Artist, as well as new awards like Songwriter Of The Year and Best Video Game Soundtrack. But the Recording Academy won’t announce the nominations for the 65th Grammy Awards right away.

When Will The 2023 Grammy Nominations Be Announced?

The first round of voting for the 65th Grammys Awards began on October 13th and will continue until October 25th. The first round will determine who the shortlist of nominees for each award are. Once that first round of voting is tabulated, the official nominations for the 2023 Grammys will be announced on November 15th.

In order to be eligible for a 2023 Grammy nomination, music has to have been released between October 1st, 2021 and September 30, 2022. Last year’s big winner, Silk Sonic, actually withdrew their album, An Evening With Silk Sonic, from consideration this year. So the major awards field is even more wide open for artists we think can take home some major Grammys hardware like Harry Styles, Adele, Post Malone, and Florence And The Machines.

The Grammys are returning to Los Angeles for 2023, the Recording Academy announced Thursday.

After hosting its 2022 show from Las Vegas, the ceremony dubbed “music’s biggest night” will return to Southern California and its usual home – the Crypto.com Arena (previously the Staples Center) – on Feb. 5, 2023.

The show will air live on CBS, beginning at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT. It will also stream on Paramount+.
