How we take choose di 100 Women?

Di BBC 100 Women team draw up one shortlist based on names wey dem gada through research and di ones wey dey suggested by di BBC network of World Service Languages teams, and also BBC Media Action.

We bin dey look for candidates wey don make headlines or influence important stories ova di past 12 months, and also dose wey get inspiring stories to tell, or wey don achieve somtin wey dey significant or influence dia societies in ways wey no go necessarily make di news.

We also assess some names wit di theme for dis year – climate change and im impact on women and girls around di world, and we bin select 28 Climate Pioneers and oda environmental leaders.

We represent voices from across di political spectrum and from all areas of society, we explore names around topics wey split opinion, and nominate women wey don create dia own change.

We also measure dis list for regional representation and due impartiality before we choose di final names. All women don give dia consent to dey on di list.
