The fifth-generation Lexus RX is due in showrooms between January and March 2023, with prices up to $15,000 higher than the outgoing model. Show
The price of the most affordable 2023 Lexus RX will rise by more than $15,000, when the new model arrives in Australian showrooms between January and March next year. As reported in September, the RX will launch in three main grades when Lexus makes its first deliveries in the opening months of 2023 – RX350h, RX350 and the new flagship RX500h – while the plug-in RX450h+ plug-in hybrid is expected to follow later on. The RX350h Luxury 2WD is the new entry-level variant, priced from $87,500 plus on-road costs – making it more than $15,000 dearer than the cheapest version of the old RX, the RX300 Luxury. However, it is about $2700 cheaper than the previous most affordable hybrid RX, the RX450h Luxury – but this was more powerful, and fitted with all-wheel drive as standard. Standard equipment levels have changed to partly offset the price rises – however the entry-level model is equipped somewhat similarly to before. Lexus RX350h variants are powered by a 2.5-litre four-cylinder petrol engine with electric motors, producing 184kW which is delivered to either the front or all four wheels through a continuously-variable automatic transmission (CVT). Lexus claims the RX350h consumes between 6.4 and 6.7L/100km on the European WLTP test cycle, while achieving a 0 to 100km/h time of 7.4 seconds in both front and all-wheel drive guise. The best-selling variant from the outgoing RX range returns in the RX350, priced from $99,900 plus on-road costs in F Sport trim and $105,900 in Sports Luxury guise – up $5196 and $4996 respectively over the same versions of the previous model.
Lexus has equipped the new-generation RX350 with a 205kW/430Nm 2.4-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine rather than the previous 221kW/370Nm 3.5-litre V6. Power is sent to all four wheels through an eight-speed automatic transmission, while Lexus claims the turbocharged RX350’s fuel consumption is 8.8L/100km on the European WLTP test cycle. The Lexus RX500h is the new flagship for the range, starting from $126,000 – about $17,000 more than the previous most expensive five-seat RX variant, the RX450h Sports Luxury. Powered by the RX350's 2.4-litre turbo four-cylinder petrol engine, the RX500h gains two electric motors – increasing its outputs to 273kW and 551Nm respectively, making it the most powerful Lexus hybrid on sale in Australia. The RX500h sends drive to all four wheels through a six-speed automatic transmission, capable of varying the split of power front to rear as required, from maximums of 100:0 (front to rear) to 20:80. The 2023 Lexus RX range is due to arrive in Australia between January and March 2023. See below for a full list of pricing and features for the 2023 Lexus RX range. 2023 Lexus RX Australian pricing
