A woman has allegedly been caught drink-driving with a five-month-old baby on her lap in Western Australia's Wheatbelt region.

Moora Police tweeted on Wednesday that the local woman was a suspended P-plate driver with a blood-alcohol level in excess of 0.08.

It is the latest in a series of similar alleged incidents, including a 29-year-old mother who crashed her car on the Kwinana Freeway just before 1am on Monday with her four-month-old baby inside.

Police say she recorded a blood-alcohol reading almost three times over the limit.

Another woman with children in her car allegedly returned a reading of 0.3 in Cottesloe on Christmas Eve.

Police Minister Liza Harvey told reporters on Wednesday that it was very concerning to see people with children in their car driving under the influence of alcohol.

"You don't want to be the headline on the front of the paper where you're the drunk mother that killed your kids in a car crash, or worse still, ploughed into someone else and killed their children," she said.

A female P-plater has been charged with high-range drink driving in western Sydney, with police discovering she had an 11-month-old baby in the back of her car when she was pulled over.

Highway patrol officers pulled over the woman’s Holden Barina on Boronia Road in St Mary’s just after midday on Wednesday.

Police allege the car was speeding as it headed southbound.

Officers spoke to the woman, 26, and discovered an 11-month old baby in the back seat of the car.

She undertook a roadside breath test, which allegedly returned a positive result.

The woman was then arrested and taken to St Marys Police Station for further testing.

During a second breath test she allegedly returned a BAC of 0.206.

The woman, who holds a P2 driver’s licence, was issued with a Field Court Attendance Notice for a first offence of driving with a High Range PCA.

A Phoenix woman has been arrested for child abuse after her one-month-old baby fell off the roof of her car after she drove away forgetting she had put the child there.

Only realising that her baby wasn't in or on the car when she returned home, 19-year-old Catalina Clouser drove back to 45th Avenue and Chollas and was greeted by police who had recovered her child.

Alerted to the near-tragedy after a passer-by found the baby on the road still strapped to its car-seat, police at the scene got Clouser to admit what she had done and was then arrested for driving while intoxicated and one count of child abuse.

Catalina Clauser, had only an hour earlier witnessed her boyfriend's arrest on DUI charges when she allegedly got high on marijuana and placed her baby on the roof of her Ford Focus.

Upset over her boyfriend's arrest, Phoenix police officer James Holmes said the mother drove to a friend's house with her baby where she smoked one or two bowls of marijuana.

According to her friends Clauser left around midnight, an hour later, with her baby asleep in his car seat.

Around 1am Saturday morning Phoenix police received calls of baby found lying in the middle of a road strapped in a car seat.

'The car seat was damaged. There were scrapes on the car seat, obviously from a fall,' Officer Holmes told KTVK.

'Of course initially we thought the baby had been tossed from a car or something,' Officer Holmes said, 'but it turns out that that's not the case.'

It is alleged that Catalina Clouser had smoked a significant amount of marijuana before she forgot where she had left her baby

Officers with the Phoenix Fire Department rushed the baby to a local hospital where he was reported in 'perfectly OK' condition, according to Officer Holmes.

Police believe Clauser set the baby's seat on the roof of her car while getting in, but forgot to collect him before driving off.

'We are pretty sure she was impaired at this point,' Officer Holmes said.

Phoenix police say Clauser and her boyfriend were seen earlier that evening smoking marijuana in a park before leaving around 11pm with the baby to buy beer.

It was on that route their vehicle was flagged by a nearby police officer and Clauser's boyfriend was arrested for aggravated DUI with a baby in the vehicle.

Realizing her baby missing later that night, Clauser called her friends to help search her route from their house.
