Plot

After interrogating The Butcher in St. Petersburg, Russia, Captain Price and Sergeant Garrick move to Hadir's last known location. Using a commandeered police cruiser, they proceed to General Barkov's private estate in Moldova. Garrick questions the ethics of the operation in Russia, to which Price states that someone must do the dirty work.

With the help of Al-Qatala, Hadir had stormed Barkov's estate, taking hostage several employees and relatives of Barkov. Price and Garrick arrive at night and enter the property. They eliminate Al-Qatala fighters along the way, using the cover of the dark to their advantage using night vision goggles. Garrick begins to clear 3 central buildings in the estate, under overwatch from Price. Garrick discovers a hostage in each building being interrogated by Al-Qatala fighters. After eliminating all threats in the area, he attempts to check if the hostages have divulged any information. While most of them haven't given in, the final one that Garrick discovers reveals that something is happening at the third floor of the main house, as well as the numbers 4-5-1.

Garrick and Price regroup at the third floor, where they encounter an office door locked by a keypad. Using the code 4-5-1, Garrick is able to unlock the door. Inside, they find Hadir. Price and Garrick capture him, and discover that he found information on a factory in Borjomi, Georgia where Barkov's chemical weapons are made. As the team prepares to leave with Hadir, Barkov's forces arrive, leveling the building with an attack helicopter. Price, Garrick, and Hadir narrowly escape, after which Hadir is restrained and escorted away.

Trivia

  • The main house can be entered at any time, but Kyle will remark that the office door is locked.
  • The code used to enter Barkov's office, 4-5-1, is a reference to the code used to unlock doors in System Shock and other Looking Glass Studios games.
  • Among the portraits inside Barkov's house, one can be seen of Taylor Kurosaki, Studio Art Director for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. This portrait is found at the first floor.
  • When helping Garrick back up, Price shouts "On your feet, we are leaving!" This is a callback to the Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare level Crew Expendable, where Captain Price says a similar line.
  • A photo of Taylor Kurosaki is found among the other pinned photos of Price and Farah. These photos are found once again in the look-out tower of Khandor Hideout.
    • An aerial photo of Euphrates Bridge is also pinned among these photos.
  • When escaping Barkov's mansion, Price tells Hadir that he "stirred the hornet's nest". This is a reference to the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 mission The Hornet's Nest.
  • Despite the mission involving use of night-vision, Russian weapons will generate with or without a laser sight suitable for night-vision goggles.
  • Price's M19 remains suppressed throughout the entire mission until his fight with the Russian soldier as Hadir helps him by resisting against a knife charge giving Price time to kill the soldier with his now unsuppressed pistol.
  • The tactical suppressor on Garrick's EBR-14 is the model taken from weapons firing 7.62x39mm ammunition such as the AK-47.
  • Some of the AK-47s found in the level with a 75-round Drum Mag have a faster fire rate and noticeably less recoil, as if they were using the 5.45x39mm ammunition.
  • If the player has taken out Al-Qatala teams in any of the three landmarks, other fighters will talk to each other about the lack of response from those teams.
  • When Price notifies Kyle that he's about to snipe an enemy, the player can kill them instead, garnering a unique response from Price.
  • Aiming at the technical will trigger warnings from Price.
  • Throughout the level, the player can witness several family members executed.
  • The hostages whom Kyle needs to interrogate all share the same model.
