  • Câu chẻ dùng để nhấn mạnh một thành phần nào đó của câu.
  • Nhấn mạnh chủ từ aới danh từ/ đại từ chỉ người It + is/ was + Noun/ pronoun + who + V + 0 .... Eg: My brother built model houses. => It was my brother who built model houses b. Với danh từ chỉ vật It + is/ was + Noun + that + V + O ... Eg: His absence at the party made me sad. => It was his absence at the party that made me sad.
  • Nhấn mạnh tân ngữ a. Với danh từ/ đại từ chỉ người It + is/ was + Noun/ pronoun + who(m) + S + V ... Eg: I met Linh on the way to supermarket => It was Linh whom I met on the way to supermarket. b. Với danh từ chỉ vật It + is/ was + Noun + that + S + V ... Eg: My brother bought an old car from our neighbor. => It was an old car that my brother bought from our neighbor.
  • Nhấn mạnh trạng từ

Với danh từ/ đại từ chỉ người It + is/ was + Noun/ pronoun + who + be + PII ....
