So, my Dropbox, Plex server, and GoodSync apps said they couldn’t find externalhdd 1. Which is weird, because it’s called externalhdd. It’s mounted like that in Finder, but if I go to Disk Utility, while the large display name on the right is externalhdd, the “mount point” is adding a “ 1” to it. All of my externals have this space 1 in the mount point now and that’s how apps see them if you, for instance, use apps like that above for sync folders. But they display correctly in the finder... Wat? Show Any suggestions or how to correct? Is it worth it? I want to upgrade but I'm worried it will brick my Macbook as Big Sur did to my old Macbook. I have the M1 Macbook Air now. I purposely waited a while so the bugs would get sorted out. level 1 Upgraded day one. Zero issues on M1 mini. M1 Studio came with it, and zero issues there as well. level 1 If you back up your data, there is very little to worry about. level 1 I personally have .1 approach to this. When X.1 is released I upgrade and it hasn’t steered me wrong so far. Usually at .1, and for good time after even the previous release is still getting all needed security updates. level 1 hello! can I ask if you upgraded? I'm also the same as you, currently in Big Sur and waited a while when Monterey came out. level 2 No, I actually still haven't! I'm probably going to do it soon though level 2 Hey! Just wanted to let you know I upgraded and it went pretty smoothly. No bugs or crashes! As usual there is nothing from Apple about kernel_task process improvement it is no longer one of the biggest memory processors on my system. 1 level 1 · 9 mo. ago MacBook Air (M1) No. Don't try to fix what isn't broken. Monterey is not completely stable yet. 1 level 1 · 9 mo. ago Not yet. But it will be once they fix the memory issues plaguing both Big Sur and Monterey. Otherwise there are some nice features if you need them. Before downgrading I remember Monterey could tell me the battery level of my non apple mouse and my non apple headphones. And universal control is supposed to come with 12.3 which would be really useful for me. 1 level 1 · 4 mo. ago My 2019 21.5 inch iMac is running slow on Big Sur after 18 months.
