Option 4- With your laptop turned 'On', press and hold down the 'FN' and 'Esc' buttons. A window will open which will show a lot of information about your HP laptop. From there, look for the Product Number which will help in identifying which model # your HP laptop is.
How do you disable/enable touchpad on HP laptops?
There are a few options to disable or enable the touchpad on your HP laptop:
Option 1 - On most HP laptops, you will find an on/off button or switch located in the vicinity of the touchpad. Press or toggle this button to turn on or off your touchpad.
Option 2 - If you cannot find the on/off button near the touchpad, press and hold the top-left portion of your touchpad for 5 seconds. This should disable the touchpad functionality. To turn it back on, follow the same instructions.
Warning: This option is only recommended if you are looking to permanently, not temporarily, remove the touchpad functionality.
Option 3 - You can also uninstall your touchpad drivers through the software on your HP laptop. To do this, select the Windows 'Start' button on the bottom left of your screen. Start to type Device Manager and select 'Device Manager'. In the window that pops up, double click on "Mice and other pointing devices". Right click on 'touchpad' and select 'Uninstall'.
