Extreme method

I have applied this method once, when my laptop crashed severely after updating one of the applications. The laptop hung at the start and did not want to display an authorization window... Therefore, I could not login to do a reboot with special parameters.

I needed to do this to restore the system, but if you have the same problem, it will help you enter the BIOS.

I warn you! It is possible to apply this method only as a last resort, when there are no other ways.

This is done like this (I performed these steps on a Samsung product):

  2. Start the system.
  3. Disconnect (remove) the battery - the laptop continues to work.
  4. Disconnect the laptop from the network.
  5. You are waiting for a short time.
  6. Connect the battery.
  7. Plug into the network.
  8. Start by pressing the power button.
  9. After these steps, you will find yourself in the system boot menu.

Stage 2: starting the BIOS

If you did everything correctly, then you will see the system boot menu, in which you should click on the item "".

In my case already installed Last update... If you have a new version available, you just have to press the last button to update the BIOS.

You need to be careful when changing BIOS settings. You can seriously slow down your computer, or even see a black screen after all the manipulations. In these sad cases, there are several ways to return to the factory settings of the BIOS i.e. reset the current settings.

  • The easiest one is to do a reset using the Load Defaults Bios command inside the BIOS settings. (you already know how to enter). The line in the BIOS menu can be called Load BIOS Setup Defaults or Load Safe-Fail Defaults (depending on the motherboard). Find the Defaults value and do a reset.
  • If only a black screen is visible, open the laptop (after turning it off !!!). Find the battery responsible for CMOS memory and remove it from the slot. To make a reset, you need to wait 5-10 minutes to clear the memory. If it still doesn't work out, go to the next method.
  • Most effective method reset the memory and reset with a jumper. The jumper is installed on the motherboard, next to the battery. Contact designations (ClrCMOS, CCMOS, ClRTC, CRTC). The jumper is set to position 1-2. To reset Bios Setup, you need to set the jumper to position 2-3 for 15 seconds. Sometimes there are 2 contacts for resetting the settings in motherboards... You need to close these contacts. The ClrCMOS button is also very rare. Resetting the settings is carried out on it.

Sometimes you need to update the BIOS. To do this, you need to download the latest BIOS from the Internet. Computer manufacturers continue to improve their products after the release of the model. New versions of the BIOS are created on the basis of the data on errors, fixes and data from the service centers. As a result, you can download an updated BIOS version for existing models on the developers website. It is necessary to warn that downloading the BIOS and installing it on your computer is a very dangerous procedure.

First of all, after an incorrect flashing, the computer may stop working completely. It is best to download a high-quality BIOS from the developer's website. Before flashing a laptop, you need to prepare bootable USB flash card. Need to download new version bios and copy it to a USB flash drive. Also download special utility flashing (flasher). The principle of the flashing method via DOS is as follows: reboot the laptop and start it from the flash card.

Before flashing a laptop, you need to know:

  • Download latest version is possible only from the official website of the manufacturer. No beta versions! Only the latest verified working version.
  • Turn on the laptop only through the power supply.
  • Use only a proven, reliable USB flash drive.
  • Never turn off the power while updating the BIOS. Do not press any keys during the process.
  • Make a bootable flash card. If there is no good flash drive, a camera or phone memory card inserted into a card reader will do. Creating a bootable USB drive is a separate procedure. You need to download the instruction on the Internet.
  • Download the new BIOS version from the manufacturer's official website. You need to go to the site and find a file search service by serial number. This service is available on many official sites. Use serial number on the case. Copy the file to a bootable USB stick.
  • Go to the BIOS and set the boot settings from the USB flash drive. After loading, the DOS command line is visible.
  • Go to command line and start flashing the BIOS. File code and name. C:> 1525_A17.
  • The programmer starts up.

The program itself checks the BIOS file for errors. Also whether the file matches the laptop model. If the process was successful, you need to press any button. When ready for flashing, press "Y"

The process of updating the BIOS begins.

We need to wait until the end of the process! Do not turn off your laptop or press any keys. After the flashing is completed and the check is successful, the system will reboot.

When the laptop starts to reboot, it may shutdown for a few seconds. It should be so! Then it will turn on by itself.

After flashing, you need to go into the BIOS and set the settings to the standard working ones.

Last thing. Any manipulations with the BIOS, restoring, loading, resetting settings or flashing should only be done by an experienced user. Better entrust all the work to professionals!
