They Ruined It!
Cetaphil has destroyed the Gentle Skin Cleanser that so many rely on. I've used it for over 30 years, even after they made it thinner to save money. But the "New and Improved" formula smells terrible and caused my face to redden and burn the first time I used it. I had to apply lotion to stop the burning. I'll have to find something else.
Purchased in October 2022 for $12.

No longer a Gentle skin cleanser
This new formula is absolute rubbish! I saw the new packaging and didn't realise at first that Cetaphil changed the formulation. However, upon using it I immediately realised that it had changed for the worst. My face instantly went bright red and I developed hives on my cheeks. The smell was awful too. It smells like mouldy dirt crossed with metal. Won't ever use again. So disappointing as the old formula was perfect and mild. Cetaphil Cheapskates went and polluted their product.

New formula is awful! It smells and it stings.
I’ve been using Cetaphil cleanser for 30+ years, a favourite product for my whole family. I recently purchased my first ‘new packaging’ cleanser, and immediately upon using on my face noticed an odd metallic-like odour (it’s meant to fragrance free) and subtle stinging, particularly around the eye area. I returned it to place of purchase for exchange, explaining I think it is “off”. They happily provided an exchange. Sadly, it is the same and I’ll be returning it too :( This change in formula is so disappointing, I can’t use it any longer.

I already reviewed the 'new' cetaphil, giving it one star as it caused me redness, stinging, peeling and extremely sensitised skin. FYI, Galderma dont seem interested in hearing negative feedback and would not publish my review, but I digress. My daughter seemed able to use it, it wasn't causing a reaction, so I thought I wouldn't waste it. What a mistake! After a month or so, her once clear skin just kept getting more and more blemishes. Change it back please
I have used this for probably more than 30 years. Immediate stinging. I notice it has B3 and pro vitamin B5. I won’t use it now. Back to square one. Tip… if it ain’t broke don’t fix it. With the old formula I believe dermatologists recommend it. I doubt it now.

What happened?
The old formula was the perfect cleanser and I had been using it for years. The new formula causes painful burning and my skin is so dry after using it. I've tried giving the new formula a few chances but it's so bad. Unfortunately I can't find any other products that are comparable to the old formula. I will definitely never use Cetpahil again unless they bring back the old formula.

Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser
Have been using the old formula for years with good results. The new formula had immediately negative results with skin rashes and redness. Comparing the ingredients between the two products shows significant changes, why did they change a product that worked so well before.
Images attached shows the NEW formula and OLD formula. The one containing Glycerin is the new formula.

I would give the new Cetaphil a 0 if I could
The new Cetaphil is horrible! It caused rashes on my skin. I used to use it on my little one as well but won’t use it going forward.

Horrible, makes my skin super sensitive and breaks out! Old formula was much better
The new formula now makes my face red and itchy. It also makes me break out!!! I used to love cetaphil gentle cleanser, it used to be the best and I swore by it. Why did they have to change it??? It definitely is not good for sensitive skin

Why have cetaphil changed their products? It is always about profit! Noone cares about the customer! Glad to know others are just as angry as I am!

Has cetaphil changed the gentle skin cleanser. The colour is more of a pearl white colour and a lot thinner.

I think so. It's def a lot runnier than I remember since using it last. Think it changed late last year.
Yes it has. Before it was clear and now its looks like soap. Luckily I was stocking up and just brought one. It made my skin break out. Switched to Cerave' which has worked just as good as the old Cetaphil.
Thankyou for the reply, I agree as I was also stocking up ... as I do about every 12 months, had a little in the old pump and it’s definitely more soap / shampoo like and now stings my eyes... such a shame as I’ve been using it for about 15 years.
Your "changed" Cetaphil cleanser is terrible!!! dried out my skin and burned my eyes!! Of course I bought the two-pack and they are both the same. From all the reviews it appears no one likes it!! unfortunately, I can't return it because I threw the receipt away. Not sure why you changed something that was perfectly fine!! I just threw them away. Why?
Hii I wanted to ask you about cetaphil cleanser cuz I ve heard about him as great for skin and many celebrities wouldn't change him with any other product so I decided to use it but some sad that it has bad chemicals for skin and know I m confused I really want to try this product
