2023 BMW s1000r canada

Discussion Starter · #1 · 2 mo ago (Edited)

Hey everyone,

I recently paid my down payment with my dealer to order a 2023 S1000RR M Pkg. Also got some added on features to make it the real dream bike. Whenever they start taking orders either this month or sometime in November I hope to be near the top of the list! I am super pumped to be getting this bike. Been my dream for about 13 years now. Recently sold my 2001 Ninja 636 and my 2022 Z900 in order to make this happen. In the mean time I'm rocking a grom so I can at least go out and ride still before the snow comes. Can't wait for the spring!

Ride safe everyone.

Welcome! What color are you getting the bike? I'm guessing they havent mentioned anything about possible delivery date.

In the Canadian section "localish" is right lol

Where in the great North are you?

I'm in Edmonton😅. I saw the Canadian section but noticed it hasn't been super active in a while, haha.

I'm getting the M package so it'll be the white, red and blue (which I'm obsessed with). As for delivery the dealer said anywhere between February to April time frame. I've been scouring any BMW news and of course the only bike they haven't talked about yet is the S1000RR lol. If history repeats itself I'm assuming the press release will be sometime this month or as late as November. Traditionally they start taking orders around November-ish time frame I believe. I'm in Edmonton, so I won't even be able to ride until earliest like end of March - mid April.

Even for 2023, if the classic M package is part of the K67, then it is going to be Red, White, Blue colors.

If you wanted the Hockinheim with M features, then, the VO FA code for M package would be left out , but you get light weight battery, carbon wheels, in the least. BMW has mixed the Akra exhaust, endurance chain, and billet parts into so many packages, it hard to call a M package very exclusive these days.

It's interesting your dealer has those specifics on the 2023. Mine has some info and my sales guy was dancing around a little about what he could say. As far as I can tell, my dealer isn't able to take any deposits or have timelines about when the 2023 will be out. There will be a 2023 no question despite speculation that there won't be. My sales guy says BMW is still producing 2022s with allocations. He said he has 8 coming in with 5 already with deposits down on them.

They specified they couldn't actually make the order as of right now because like you mentioned they aren't taking orders yet. I'm assuming the timeframe they gave me was also just an assumption from previous years. I asked about getting a 2022 and he told me they aren't taking order for them anymore. Not sure if misinformed or because we're in Canada and it'll be snowing for the next 5 months, lol.

Could mean they don't have any more allocations from BMW for 2022. My dealer is pretty large and sells only BMW motorcycles. They also have a decent online presence selling new and used BMW motorcycle parts.

I just think for them to take money from you as a deposit on something they can't even order yet is a bit slimy. But if you're ok with that, then that's all that matters. To me it would be better if they take your name and when orders open up, you have x amount of time to get your deposit in or lose your spot.

Ah yea. This is one of the larger dealers in my city but they aren't brand specific. I agree that it's a bit weird, but I have dealt with them numerous times and they know me pretty well. If it was a different scenario I would just put my name down.

Is the BMW S1000R comfortable?

Even on eight-hour riding days the BMW is so spacious it doesn't make my knees or wrists ache and there's no sore bum either, even with its sporty M seat.

What is the difference between S1000R and S1000R sport?

Aside from the fact that the S 1000 RR is the more “iconic” of the two bikes, being the sportbike, there are three primary differences between the S 1000 R and the S 1000 RR: Engine power and torque curve (the big one!) Handlebars and riding position (the other big one) Racing-oriented factory options on the S 1000 RR.

Which bike is better than S1000RR?

Hayabusa vs S 1000 RR.

What's the difference between the M 1000 and S1000RR?

After two years running the latest generation S1000RR in everything from WSB to superstock, BMW decided it needed changing around a bit. So, the M1000RR's engine is stronger and more tuneable, the steering geometry is tweaked and it's sprouted wings, Nissin brakes and lots of M badges.
